At ARS Interactive, we are looking for the Flash / Actionscript maestro. If you know “a little Actionscript” this job probably isn’t for you. Your grasp on various aspects of the Flash development should be unprecedented.

Job Description

Joining our team means you will:

  • Animate & program Flash experiences using AS3 & AS2
  • Contribute own sense of visual integrity, animation timing and flow to all projects
  • Consult & concept with our Creative team, helping to evaluate projects and suggest new technologies to be incorporated into final units
  • Collaborate with Creative, Production and Interaction Design teams, while guiding overall development progress towards successful deliverables
  • Possess realistic, innate judgment abilities when considering the big picture vs. the minutia, as well as client expectations vs. self-expectations
  • Work on multiple projects concurrently as required, while demonstrating a mature ability to handle a variety of assignments at once
  • Execute changing priorities and other duties as assigned

Skills

  1. Strong ActionScript 3.0 is required with a background in AS2; Object Oriented Programming comfort is a must
  2. Adobe Flex experience is a plus
  3. BS in Computer Science, digital design or related field
  4. Three years experience in an agency environment (exceptional work can make up for lack of agency experience)
  5. Expert knowledge of Flash Compression techniques and file structuring practices
  6. Expert knowledge of Flash animation techniques using both the timeline & programmatic motion
  7. Experience in creating dynamic Flash applications that use XML and server side technologies
  8. Flash Remoting and Communication Server experience a plus
  9. Expert knowledge of encoding audio and video within Flash
  10. Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  11. Firm understanding and appreciation for detail in your work, the work of your peers and any projects you will collaborate on
  12. General understanding of Rich Media specs, best practices and definitions – experience with Rich Media vendor templates, practices & API’s a huge plus
  13. Working knowledge of Photoshop/Fireworks, Illustrator, After Effects & 3D also a plus
